The collection is a typewritten transcript of a interview conducted by Scott S. Barnett on 15 Jan. 1985 at Brigham Young University. Also included is the cassette tape from which the the interview was transcribed. Shuler was assigned to the First Infantry Division in Vietnam. Shuler talked about his two tours in Vietnam which were in 1965 and 1968-9. He discussed such issues as men's reactions to battle and how his experience influenced his relationships with his family. He also talked about his work in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints while he was in Vietnam.
